    Flow Timer

Flow Timer is an adjustable hourglass prototype. Still in progress. To conduct time trials, I created temporary inserts using a laser cutter. Then I calculated the relationship between hole diameter & the time of completion. From those results, an iris mechanism was 3d printed.

    3D Modeling a Makerspace

This weekend, I created some 3D renderings of the Ion Prototyping Lab. The goal of this project was to generate a 3D model of the makerspace that could be usable for virtual tours, floor planning, etc. and also get a chance to test out a new app, Polycam. Overall, this project was a lot of…

    Drawing Machine

The following photo gallery shows my general process in developing a spirograph inspired drawing machine, first producing a low-fidelity prototype in cardboard, then creating a final design in laser cut wood. Low fidelity prototype in cardboard. Laser cutting using wood. Pattern using 40-36-100-50 gear set. Alternative orientation using the 74 teeth gear. Equipment: Materials used:

  • Pretzel Slime

    Pretzel Slime

Pretzel Slime is a diamond shaped art piece using an aluminum/steel sheet of metal; the purpose of this piece was to explore the plasma cutting tool, while also practicing post-processing techniques learned in class. I wanted to create an object inspired by my fascination with biology and organic structures. After some research for inspiration, I…

    Sphericon

This project explores different 3D printing processes, making two identical objects, one using an FDM printer (fused deposition modeling) and another using SLA printer (stereolithography). I decided to print a hexagonal sphericon – a geometric solid made by revolving a hexagon, cutting it in half and rejoining the two pieces at a 90 degree turn. The continuous…
